Are you looking for the best lawn mower for stripes and want to achieve those beautiful Baseball field Lines everyone admires, on your own lawn? You’re in luck! Today we’ll go over the Best Electric Lawn Mowers and equipment for Stripes, and show you how to achieve those lovely lines. Interested in our favorite model? Check out the Greenworks 40V, we think you’ll love it too! Before we get to our instructions on how to mow Grass Stripes, you may be wondering why we are focusing on electric mowers rather than their petroleum counterparts. And it’s simple really. Gas mowers require a ton of maintenance. And if you live in cold weather areas, you’ll need to “winterize” your mower. Otherwise, you’ll find it impossible to start it up in the spring. Conversely, electric mowers rarely need the maintenance of a gas motor. And let us be honest, pull-starting is the worst (push button is the way to go). Furthermore, electric mowers have come a long way recently. Another thing people love about their electric mowers is how much quieter they are than gas mowers. Not to mention you’ll never have to store gasoline in your garage again. You can finally forget about those costly tune-ups at the beginning of each spring too.

Oh, and I almost forgot. Purchasing an electric mower means you forgo the cost of gas each time you mow the lawn. Instead, you just charge the battery or plug in the cord (depending on the type of mower you purchase). Don’t feel like thumbing through the whole article to find out which best suits your lawn care needs? That’s cool too, just check out the Black and Decker MM2000. Its got a 13 amp motor and a 20-inch cutting deck, so you’ll get your lawn done in a snap. You’re sure to love it.

But first…

How do you make Lawn Stripes?

Stripes are very easy to create and are a great aesthetic for a well-groomed lawn. A stripe on your lawn is created by putting the blade of the mower at one of the higher settings and mowing in a straight line across your lawn. Once you reach one end, turn the mower 180 degrees and continue down your next row and in this pattern until you have finished mowing your lawn. For best results, mow the outside edges of your lawn at a right angle first, the outside edges will be clean and you can focus on making either vertical stripes ( as viewed from the front) without any mistakes! Common Electric Mower Frustrations

You may have heard a few stories people have experienced with their electric lawn mowers. And while these complaints do have some merit, what often goes unsaid is they didn’t have a quality electric motor. You see, just like any other good you purchase in life, you are getting what you pay for (for the most part). If you get something with sub-par components, then you can expect a sub-par product. And because electric mowers have been so expensive in the past, a lot of newcomers to the ‘electric revolution’ opted for cut-rate products that didn’t fit their needs. Which brings me to my second point. Thanks to the improvements that have been made in electric motors in the last few years, high-quality electric lawn mowers are becoming more and more accessible. This means you can now purchase an excellent mower for a fraction of the price you would’ve paid even a couple of years ago. These are some common complaints of electric mowers.

Battery Life

Battery life is always a cause for concern, and for a good reason. Nobody wants to be in the middle of their yard work and have to pause for 3 hours to recharge their equipment. I mean yeah, the break is nice sure, but then you’ve got to get back up and start again. People’s concern with battery life goes two different ways. First, their concern is how long each charge will last. Second, and maybe most important, is the worry about the life of the battery as a whole. Will it have to be replaced every year? Will the battery die faster with each time I charge it? These are all perfectly valid concerns, and thankfully batteries come a long way in the past few years. Finding an electric motor with a top-notch battery will ease these concerns, and most reputable companies will offer a warranty on the batteries as well.

Cost

This is an obvious frustration for most. Electric mowers tend to be more expensive than gas mowers, yet don’t offer the same power a gas motor does (at least not relative to price). The conversation usually goes like this, “Why pay 200 dollars for an electric mower when I can get a gas one with more power for the same price?” And this isn’t a bad question by any means. The answer, however, is relatively straightforward. Yes, the initial investment is higher for an electric lawn mower. But you aren’t paying for gas with each use. Tune-ups are all but eliminated, and there is less hassle with maintenance altogether. When looking at the ‘big picture,’ you stand to save a lot of money with electric mowers.

Power

This is the most talked about the downfall of electric motors is that they aren’t as powerful. And this is absolutely a legitimate beef you may have. The best advice I can give is this; if you have a lot of space to mow, like a half acre or more, or your grass is usually left to grow very tall (or a thick breed of grass like Bermuda), then you may be better off with a gas powered motor. But if you have a small to medium size yard, and keep up with your lawn regularly, then you are the perfect candidate for an electric lawn mower. back to menu ↑

Wrap – Up

Electric lawn mowers are essentially maintenance mowers. If you keep up with your lawn regularly, you are ‘absolutely’ going to enjoy what they have to offer you. But they aren’t for everybody, so make sure you fit the bill of someone who will benefit from having an electric motor. If you are a candidate for one of these lawn mowers; we are confident you are going to love your purchase. No more noise pollution, no more buying gas, no more messing with pull strings. Just push the button, and get to work.
